GRANTS & OPERATIONS ASSISTANT

The Proteus Fund is seeking a full-time Grants & Operations Assistant. The Grants & Operations Assistant will form a critical component of the organization’s structure, with 70% of his/her time dedicated to grants management and 30% to other administrative duties on the Operations Team. S/he will be required to work in Proteus Fund’s main office located in Amherst, Massachusetts.

The Grants & Operations Assistant works in cooperation with Proteus Fund staff, interns and consultants to facilitate the process of awarding approximately 200 grants annually. S/he will report to the Grants Manager and assist with managing all grant-related activities from initial inquiry from grantseekers to grant closure. The Grants & Operations Assistant will work with a variety of Proteus Fund programs and private family foundations, and will provide additional administrative support to the Operations Team.  Additional qualifications and a detailed job description can be found at http://www.proteusfund.org/grants-operations-assistant.

PIPER FUND PROGRAM OFFICER – JUDICIAL INDEPENDENCE PROJECT  

The Program Officer will focus particularly on grantmaking related to state judicial selection and advancing policies related to disclosure, recusal, merit selection and public financing of elections.  S/he will be responsible for working closely with the funding partners of the Piper Fund and helping to engage additional foundations and individual donors in this work.    Candidates must have experience at strategically evaluating an organization’s ability to develop successful grassroots campaigns and win policy victories; a keen understanding of politics at the state level; experience with grantmaking.  Additional qualifications and a detailed job description can be found at  http://www.proteusfund.org/piper-fund-program-officer-judicial-independence-project

Qualified candidates for this position will hold a bachelor’s degree with five to seven years’ experience in a relevant non-profit setting and/or an advanced degree in a related field.  Having a legal degree is not required, but is preferred and considered valuable for this position.  Although the organization’s main office is located in Amherst, MA, outstanding candidates based in other parts of the state or country will be considered.   Proteus Fund is a grant making foundation committed to advancing justice through democracy, human rights and peace.
