Proteus Funds Signs Disability Inclusion Pledge

Proteus Fund Signs Disability Inclusion Pledge - Proteus Fund

During the recent celebration of the 31st anniversary of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act, Proteus Fund proudly joined other leading philanthropic institutions in signing the Disability Inclusion Pledge. Our collective work to ensure equity, justice, and an inclusive and representative democracy for all in the United States should and must include the 61 million people living with disabilities.

By signing the Disability Inclusion Pledge, Proteus Fund commits to embark on a disability inclusion learning journey and to pursue preliminary disability inclusion action steps in the following areas:

  • Disability Community Engagement
  • Disability-Inclusive Language
  • Accessible Events
  • Inclusion Audits and Plans
  • Staff Training and Participation
  • Board Training and Participation
  • Disability Grantmaking
  • Measure and Report

In adding Proteus Fund’s name to the pledge, we are holding ourselves accountable and will report back to the Presidents’ Council on Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy on our progress on these steps by 2023. See the Disability & Philanthropy Forum for the full list of grantmaking and philanthropy-serving organizations that have signed the pledge to signal their commitment to disability inclusion.
