Proteus Fund welcomes four social justice leaders to the Board of Directors. As a group, these new Board members bring years of movement, philanthropy, and other critical experience and skill sets to Proteus Fund that will provide innovative and fresh perspectives to the work we do, the movements we support, and the evolution of Proteus Fund as an institution. Please join us in a welcome and take a few minutes to learn more about their impressive work and contributions.
Proteus Fund also owes a debt of gratitude to a current member who is rotating off the Board. Natasha Minsker will be leaving the Proteus Fund Board after 8 years. Natasha has contributed greatly to Proteus Fund and our affiliated organization Proteus Action League.
In addition to welcoming four new members, Proteus Fund’s Board of Directors is beginning the year with new leadership. Please join us in congratulating Nic Campbell as our new Board Chair and Rick Scott as our new Treasurer. Nic is a dynamic strategist and leader with more than 15 years of experience in the public and private sectors. She has provided strategic legal, governance, and operational guidance as a senior advisor for two of the world’s most prominent grantmakers through previous roles at Dalio Foundation and Open Society Foundations. Rick Scott brings significant foundation experience and investment expertise to the Board. He recently retired as the VP of Finance & Compliance at the McKnight Foundation, where he oversaw several complex areas, including finance, investments, and legal compliance through periods of significant economic and leadership transitions.
Eric Ward and Odell Mays will be transitioning from their respective officer roles as Chair and Treasurer while continuing as Board members. Words cannot express our deep appreciation for the leadership of Eric and Odell. As for our now former chair, Eric, thank you for sharing your deep expertise, passion, optimism, and overall thoughtful partnership with me and the entire Board over the last four years!
