In late July, another member of the Solidarity Collaborative’s 2024 cohort officially launched its solidarity project. La Tejedora, a youth-led, membership-based organization that mobilizes and organizes Puerto Ricans ages 18-35, hosted the first convening of the Caribbean Youth Solidarity Network in the Dominican Republic. The gathering brought together young adults from Puerto Rico and several Caribbean countries to discuss issues impacting the region and how to address them.
La Tejedora’s executive director, Kari Claudio Betancourt, said the organization has leaned into support from cohort peers, including getting accessibility guidance for this event from fellow Solidarity Collaborative cohort member, New Disabled South.
